John's father was Edward Davies and his mother was Rachel Millington.  His maternal grandparents were John Millington and Margaret Youd. He had three brothers named Samuel, John and Edward.  He was the oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 1 in June 1788 in Pentrobin.  He was buried on June 10th, 1788 in Hawarden.¹
