Edward's father was Edward Davies and his mother was Rachel Millington.  His maternal grandparents were John Millington and Margaret Youd. He had three brothers named John, Samuel and John.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 51 in December 1850 in Pentrobin.  He was buried on December 6th, 1850 in Hawarden.¹
