Mary was born in 1824 in Rawtenstall and her baptism took place on July 25th, 1824 in Haslingden.1  Mary's father was James Cunliffe and her mother was Mary Hargreaves. She had a brother and a sister, named James and Alice.  She was the second oldest of the three children. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named James, Peggy, Ellen and Mary.  She died at the age of 3 in 1827 in Rawtenstall.  Her burial was on July 3rd, 1827 in Newchurch in Rossendale.2
