Hannah was born on October 29th, 1787 in Huddersfield and her baptism took place on January 7th, 1788 in Highfield (Independent).1 2  Hannah's father was Edward Crosland and her mother was Hannah Mason. She had eight brothers and a sister, named James, John, Benjamin, John, Joseph, Edward, Ard, Edy and Nanny.  She was the youngest of the ten known children.
