Edward was born on September 25th, 1814 in Lindley and his baptism took place on October 25th, 1814 at Lindley Zion Chapel.1  Edward's father was John Crosland and his mother was Mary Wilkinson. He had seven brothers and five sisters, named Joseph, Ard, James, John, Law, George, Edwin, Jane, Hannah, Bessy, Mary and Sarah.  He died at the age of 45 in 1859.

‌Edward and Sarah were married in a religious ceremony in June 1850 in Huddersfield.3   They had a son and a daughter, named Joseph and Jane.  There are no more children.
