Mary's father was Robert Chadwick and her mother was Betty (Elizabeth) Mather.  Her maternal grandparents were John Mather and Betty Edge. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Henry, Robert, Margaret, Sarah, Sarah and Elizabeth.  She was the third oldest of the seven children.  She died at 4 months old in November 1824 in Bolton.  She was buried on November 21st, 1824 at St. Peter's (Bolton).²
