Taylor's father was William Henry Buckley and his mother was Alice A Bradbury.  His paternal grandparents were Daniel Buckley and Sarah Wild. He had a brother and four sisters, named Harry, Sarah, Bertha, Clara and Maud.  He was the second youngest of the six known children.  He died at 3 months old in December 1889 in Oldham.¹
