Jonadab Brook

Jonadab was born on April 17th, 1831 in Thurstonland and his baptism took place on April 17th, 1831 at the Baptist Chapel, Grange Road.¹

  Son of Jon'n & Betty Brook, Stocks More (ie. Stocksmoor) in township of Thurstonland and Parish of Kirkburton. April 17th 1831. Today there is a small group of houses "Whitestones", on Stocks Moor Road, which is probably where Johadab was born.

Jonadab's father was Jonathan Brook and his mother was Betty Moorhouse. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, Isaac, William, Thomas, Harriet and Ruth. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 29 in June 1860 in Huddersfield.²

  in 1853 Jonadab was a weaver from Berry Brow (when married and when Mary was baptised).
  
  In 1855 they had a son John thad died an infant. The non-conformist baptish shows Johadan as a Loom Repairer from Berry Brow and confirms Ruth daughter (maybe adopted) of Job Stocks.
