Ada's father was Thomas (Tom) Bridge and her mother was Betty Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Mary Ann (Martha) Jane Bolton. She had a brother and a sister, named Fred and Minnie. She was the second oldest of the three children.
