Martha was born on March 16th, 1790.  Martha's father was James Booth and her mother was Rachael Horrocks.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Booth and Catherine (Kat) Holt. She had four brothers and three sisters, named John, Lawrence, James, Rachel, Mary, Elizabeth and Catherine.  She was the third oldest of the eight children.
