Catherine was born on April 27th, 1805 in Ainsworth and her baptism took place there on May 26th, 1805.1  Catherine's father was James Booth and her mother was Rachael Horrocks.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Booth and Catherine Holt. She had four brothers and three sisters, named John, Lawrence, James, Rachel, Mary, Martha and Elizabeth.  She was the second youngest of the eight children.
