Grace was born in 1799 in Little Bolton and her christening took place on November 10th, 1799 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1  Grace's father was Thomas Bolton and her mother was Mary Whitaker. She had three brothers and five sisters, named John, Richard, Abraham, Maria, Ann, Sarah, Mary and Maria.  She was the oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 2 in January 1801 in Bolton.  She was buried on January 6th, 1801 at St. Mary (Deane).2
