Eliza was born in December 1854 in Newsome. Eliza's father was Uriah Blackburn and her mother was Martha Mitchell.  Her paternal grandparents were Michael Blackburn and Hannah Eastwood. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, Joe, Mary and Emma.  She was the youngest of the five children. She had a half-brother named William.  She died at the age of 30 in February 1885 in Newsome.  She was buried on February 16th, 1885.
