Mary was born in 1769 in Wepre and her baptism took place on September 17th, 1769 in Northop.1  Mary's father was Edward Bennett and her mother was Elizabeth Piercy. She had six brothers and two sisters, named John, Edward, Benjamin, Jonathan, John, Nathaniel, Ann and Elizabeth.  She was the fourth oldest of the nine children.
