Charles' father was George Batho and his mother was Sarah Holderhead.  His paternal grandparents were George Batho and Rosanna (Rosina). He had three brothers and four sisters, named John, James, Robert, Mary, Betsy, Rose and Jane.  He was the second oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 2 on November 6th, 1836.¹
