Margaret was born in 1825 in Ashworth and her baptism took place on October 16th, 1825 in Heywood.1  Margaret's father was John Barlow and her mother was Mary Meaden. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Robert, John, Ann, Sally, Rachael, Mary, Susanna  and Jane.  She was the seventh oldest of the nine children.
