Ellen was 28 and unmarried in 1851, born Ashton-in-Willows, living with her sister Margaret Mather in Little Bolton. She appears to have had two children Joseph and Walter Banks (5 & 3). Walter Banks died latrer in 1851, aged 3.
In 1842, Ellen had a daughter Mary ho married James Taylor. She was living with them in Halliwell in 1881.
