Walker was born in June 1823 in Middleton and his baptism took place on June 15th, 1823 at St. Leonard (Middleton).1  Walker's father was John Allen and his mother was Mary Mather. He had three brothers and a sister, named Richard, David, Arthur and Martha.  He was the second youngest of the five known children.  He died at 1 months old in July 1823 in Hopwood.  He was buried on July 11th, 1823 in Prestwich.2
