Elizabeth was born in September 1854 in Bradshaw.1  Elizabeth's father was John Allen and her mother was Alice Mather.  Her maternal grandparents were Edward Mather and Ann Brambley. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Edward, William, Richard, John, Charles, Alice, Alice and Sarah. She had an adopted sister named Mary.
