Jacques was born on September 12th, 1669 in Chàteau-Richer, Montmorency, Qc, Canada.  Jacques' father was René II DeLavoye and his mother was Anne Gaudin.  His paternal grandparents were René I DeLavoye and Isabeau Bellenger; his maternal grandparents were Élie Gaudin and Esther Ramage. He had four brothers and a sister, named René III, Jean, Pierre, Joseph and Anne.  He was the oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 82 on January 3rd, 1752 in Petite-Rivière-St-Francois, Qc, Canada.
