Blanche was born on May 3rd, 1883.  Blanche's father was Andrew Hewat and her mother was Elizabeth Usher.  Her maternal grandfather was George Usher and her maternal grandmother is Caroline Gaisford. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Andrew, Ronald, Lionel, Gwendoline, William, Amy, Jesse , Evelyn and Gladys.  She was the fourth oldest of the eleven children.  She died due to natural causes or old age at the age of 87 in 1970.
