Victoria was born on October 25th, 1894.  Victoria's father was Samuel Jacobus Martens and her mother was Angenita Adendorff.  Her paternal grandparents were Cornelius (Basheesa) Jacobus Martens and Victoria Liversage. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Cornelius, Johan , Auwinus, Samuelina, Victor, Maria and Louise.  She is the fourth oldest of the eight children.
