Isabella was born on November 23rd, 1891.  Isabella's father was Dewald Johannes Martens and her mother is Anna Margaretha Frederika van Rooyen.  Her paternal grandparents were Jan (Tommie) Thomas Martens and Anna  Catharina Elizabeth Pretorius. She had four brothers and a sister, named Jan, John, Dewald, Lukas  and Anna.  She was the third oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 81 on May 2nd, 1973.
