Arthur was born on March 5th, 1883. Arthur's father was William Wesley Dye and his mother was Ann Mays. His paternal grandparents were Dusosway George Dye and Mary Ann McKinley. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Jesse, Tony, Lillie, Clara, Blanche and Mary. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 74 in 1957.
