Reuben/Ruben Dye and
Mary Jane Riggs. He had two sisters named

Susan. He was the oldest of the three children. He had three half-brothers and six half-sisters, named

Jane. He died at the age of 65 on February 27th, 1887.

Possum Tail
Wade Dye reports that the great possum which has been fattening on Dusauce Dye's paw paws was killed by the orator and statesman, T.W. Dye..It weighed 75 pounds, and was the largest one grown in these parts. A generous portion was given to C.F. Doolittle, which in a measure atoned for the loss of his favorite possum. Dusauce will make an overcoat out of the hide for winter.
William Wesley Dye

Mrs. G.A. Dye, on the strength of the oil boom, has traded her thoroughbred leghorn rooster to George Board for a buggy. Mr. Dye was so well pleased with the buggy that he made Mr. Board a present of a calf that he had no use for. Mr. Board is also very proud of his rooster.
Henry Washington Dye

Note from Phyllis (Dye) Slater: Henry made and sold a salve that the formula has been handed down through the Dye family... appropriately called the "Dye Salve." Several of our family members have used this salve and swear by it...including myself.
