Fred's father was Fred Dupree (Dupra) and his mother was Aline   Vive Lamour.  His maternal grandparents were John Vivelamour and Julia Marois (King).  Joseph Dupree (Dupré) and Mary were his grandparents through his father's adoption. He had six brothers and a sister, named Henry, Herbert, Noah, Augustus, Levi, Arthur and Pearl.  He was the oldest of the eight known children.  He died at the age of 59 in 1949.²
