Hendrika was born on March 10th, 1813 in Nijensleek.1  Hendrika's father was Harm Jans Veenstra and her mother was Geesjen Klaassen Haveman.  Her paternal grandparents were Jan Pieters Veenstra and Hendrikje Egberts; her maternal grandparents were Klaas Jans Haveman and Aaltje Alberts Fokken. She had four brothers and a sister, named Jan Harms, Klaas, Egbert, Berend and Aaltje.  She was the oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 68 on June 8th, 1881 in Veendijk (Havelte).2
