Elsje was born on June 25th, 1782 in Beemster.  Elsje's father was Jan Dinkla and her mother was Aaltje Reusenaar.  Her paternal grandparents were Johann (Jan) Heinrich Dinklage and Anna Rebekka Johansson Hendriksen; her maternal grandparents were Jan Ruischenaar and Vrouw / Moeder. She had nine brothers and six sisters, named Hendrik, Jan, Dirk, Frederik, Willem, Gerrit, Gerrit, Willem, Willem, Antje, Aaltje, Elsje, Elisabeth, Elisabeth and Leentje / Lena / Helena.  She was the fifth oldest of the sixteen children.  She died at the age of 66 on June 12th, 1849 in Purmerend.1
