Elisabeth was born on July 19th, 1794 in Purmerend.  Elisabeth's father was Jan Dinkla and her mother was Aaltje Reusenaar.  Her paternal grandparents were Johann (Jan) Heinrich Dinklage and Anna Rebekka Johansson Hendriksen; her maternal grandparents were Jan Ruischenaar and Vrouw / Moeder. She had nine brothers and six sisters, named Hendrik, Jan, Dirk, Frederik, Willem, Gerrit, Gerrit, Willem, Willem, Antje, Aaltje, Elsje, Elsje, Elisabeth and Leentje / Lena / Helena.  She was the fourth youngest of the sixteen children.
