Hendrika was born on January 31st, 1770.  Hendrika's father was Jan Preusterink and her mother was Derkske  Fredriks.  Her paternal grandparents were Hendrik Preusterink and Hendrikka Heitink. She had two brothers and a sister, named Gerrit, Hendrik and Berentjen.  She was the oldest of the four children.
