Maria was born on May 3rd, 1787 in Zelhem, Netherlands.  Maria's father was Derk Abbink and her mother was Janna / Jannij Hoeve.  Her paternal grandparents were Henrick Abbink and Jantje; her maternal grandparents were Gart Jan / Garrit Jan Hoeve / Hoever and Maria / Marija Wassink / Wossink. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Harmanus, Garrit Hendrik, Jenneken / Jenneke, Gradeken, Jantjen, Janna and Grada.  Maria and Jantjen were twins. She had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Hendrik, Jan, Marten, Teuntjen and Hendrika.  She died at the age of 49 on September 9th, 1836 in Halle, Netherlands.1
