Pieter was born on May 21st, 1731 in Watergang.1   Pieter's father was Crelis Pietersen van Neck and his mother was Trijntje Teunis.  His paternal grandparents were Pieter van Neck and <Unknown>. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Teunis, Willem, Simon, Bitie and Aagje.  He was the oldest of the six children.
