Cornelis was born in 1839 in Nibbixwoud.  Cornelis' father was Cornelis Kool and his mother was Aafje Aker.  His paternal grandparents were Frederik Kool and Trijntje Nijman; his maternal grandparents were Pieter Aker and Lijsbeth Tjerks de Vries. He had a brother and three sisters, named Pieter, Trijntje, Betje and Aafje.  He was the second youngest of the five children.  He died at the age of 71 on March 5th, 1910 in Blokker.
