Janet was born on January 14th, 1811.1   Janet's father was Thomas VIPOND and her mother was Jean BORLAND. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Archibald, John, Robert, George, Elizabeth, Jean, Ann and Margaret.  She was the oldest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 37 on May 3rd, 1848 in Arbroath, Angusshire, Scotland.1
