George William Henry MATTHEWS

George was born on October 25th, 1883 in Queenstown, SA.¹   George's father was George MATTHEWS and his mother was Eliza WATSON.  His paternal grandparents were George MATTHEWS and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Joseph WATSON and Miriam COTTON. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Charles, William, Eliza, Florence, Margaret, Emmie and Fanny.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
