Ada was born on August 5th, 1871 in Brompton, Adel, SA.1 Ada's father was John Alexander DAVIESS and her mother was Ada Emma PEARSON. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas DAVIESS and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were Thomas PEARSON and Louisa Maria BALLS. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Edward, Alexander, Alfred, Herman, Fredrick, Maud and Elizabeth. She was the third oldest of the eight children.
