Sarah (Sarah) KENNY 
Sarah (Sarah) was born about 1811 in Kennystown, Wicklow, Ireland.1 Sarah (Sarah)'s father was Bartholomew KENNY and her mother was Anne BREEN. Her paternal grandparents were James KENNY and Mary BYRNES; her maternal grandparents are John BREEN and Jean WILLIAMS. She had four brothers and two sisters, named James, Thomas, Richard, Philip, Mary and Catherine. She was the youngest of the seven children. She died on October 28th, 1899 in Smith Falls, Ontario, Canada. She was buried in November 1899 in Roman catholic Cemetery, SmithFalls, Ontario.1 2 General Notes
The Fitz Tenent evictions sheet shows the following under ID # 18 1847
Thomas 40, Sarah 35, Thomas 15, Mary 14, Ann 11, Michael 8, Pat 5. There was also a cousin, Biddy Shannon (35) and her son Thomas (10), who were scratched off list. 11 acres from Richard Kenny.

There was a Thomas Balfe living with or near Mike and Amelia Kenny in Kitley in 1861 per census.
Sarah and Thomas came to Canada in 1847 and briefly lived in West Ontario for a couple of years, before moving to South Elmsly. They then settled on the land that became known as Four Mile Bush. Between Thomas Sr. and his son Thomas Jr, the Balfes once owned 300 acres along Hwy 15. Later that century, Thos Jr. bought the Rose Farm, which is the present sight of Smith Falls Golf and Country Club.
Her obit write up in the Rideau Record was titled "Almost Four score and Ten"
At the time of her before her death, Sarah lived with 3 grandchildren. J, Sarah, Mary Sinnott. She was survived by one son, Thomas of S. Elmsly, 4 daughters Mrs P. Burns of Port Arthur, Mrs S. Farrell, Mrs R Sinnott, S. Elmsly, Mrs E O'Mara

In the 1871 Elmsley census, a Mary Balfe, age 13 and a Thomas Minor, age 8- was staying with Tom and Sarah Balfe.

Sarah (Sally) was born on November 15th, 1848 in Kitley, Ontario, Canada.7 She died at the age of 100 on November 15th, 1948.5
