On the FW records, there were 2 Thomas on it, Tom Balfe, in 1847 age 15, and Tom Shannon, age 10. then, on the 1851 census in SF, it showed 2 Tom Balfes, one 18 and one 10. I believe that the second Tom is not a Balfe, but raised by the Balfes. Could have even taken on their name, according to three 1901 census, where it showed a Tom Balfe, that fit into the same age group. Is his last name Shannon, adopted to Balfe?
