Gwendoline May was born on December 25th, 1898 in Plymouth, Devon, England.1 Gwendoline May's father was Albion George JENNINGS and her mother was Martha HENDRA. Her paternal grandfather is Albion JENNINGS and her paternal grandmother was Sarah Ann BEER; her maternal grandparents were John HENDRA and Mary Jane ROWE. She had two brothers and five sisters, named George Frederick Hendra, Leonard, Ida Louise, Ivy Maud Mary, Candace Myrtle, 'Baby' and Irene Beryl. She was the third oldest of the eight children. She died due to Blood clot in chest at the age of 50 on December 25th, 1948 in Plymouth, Devon, England.1 General Notes

Gwendoline May Jennings was born in Plymouth, Devon on Christmas Day 1898 to Albion Jennings and Martha (nee Hendra). Little is known about her early years but she married William Pearn Brooks 19 Nov 1919 at the Plymouth Register Office and their only child, Norah, was born 23 Feb 1920. William's Father had a dairy and general store in Ashford Road, Mutley, Plymouth and the three lived there with his parents and never had a home of their own. Norah moved from Plymouth to Gloucester during the war and worked in an aircraft factory and never returned to Plymouth except to visit. Gwen was taken ill in December 1948 with a blood clot near the heart. Despite efforts to dissolve it she died on Christmas Day, which was her 50th birthday. Her husband, Will, later remarried and his second wife also predeceased him. He died about 1965.
