Josep was born in January 1836 in Llorenç del Penedès.  His godmother was Maria Colet.  Josep's father was Mariano Colet Aluja and his mother is Maria Sadurni Mestre.  His paternal grandparents are Joan Colet Esplgues and Maria Aluja Guell. He had four sisters named Maria, Madrona, Rosa and Antonia.  He was the third oldest of the five children.  Josep is no longer alive.
