Catherine Stanley 
Catherine was born about 1540 in Hooton, Cheshire, England. Catherine's father was William Stanley and her mother was Grace Griffith. Her paternal grandparents were Sir William Stanley and Anne Harrington; her maternal grandparents were William Griffith and Jane Stradling. She had four brothers and two sisters, named William, Rowland, Edward, John, Mary and Jane. She was the youngest of the seven children.-
