William was born about 1425 in Hooton, Cheshire, England. William's father was William Stanley (of Hooton) Esq. and his mother was Mary Savage. His paternal grandparents were Sir William De Stanley and Margaret (Blanche) Anderne. He had four brothers and two sisters, named George, Peter, Edmund, John, Margaret and Jane. He died in March 1465 in Hooton, Cheshire, England.-
