Mary was born in June 1916 in Flyde, Lancashire, England. Mary's father was RobertSingleton and her mother was Elizabeth EmmaTopping. Her paternal grandparents were John Singleton and Annie ElizabethSanderson . She had two brothers and a sister, named John, Peter and Annie Elizabeth. She was the second youngest of the four children. She died at the age of 49 in 1965.-
