Ann was born on November 23rd, 1763 in Comrie, Perthshire, Scotland and her baptism took place there on November 23rd, 1763.  Ann's father was Alexander McLaren and her mother was Margaret Cameron. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Alexander, Patrick, John, Catharine and Christian.  She was the third oldest of the six children.
