George Bridges Lewis

George Bridges was born in 1888 in Galmpton, Devon, England.  George Bridges' father was Brig Gen Bridges George Lewis CB, DSO  and his mother was Mary Robinson Burn-Murdoch.  His paternal grandparents were Rev G. B. Lewis and Frances Mary Hesketh; his maternal grandparents were Rev Canon James McGibbon Burn-Murdoch and Maria Hannah Carr. He had a brother and a sister, named James Christopher Francis and Thetis.  He was the second oldest of the three children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named George William (Peter), Jean Isobel and Ursula Anne.
