Francis Gwyn was born on September 5th, 1750 in London and his baptism took place on October 5th, 1750. Francis Gwyn's father was Thomas Cookson and his mother was Sarah Hull. His paternal grandparents were John Cookson and Dorothy Long; his maternal grandparents were No Name Hull and Unknown. He had nine brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, John, Joseph, William, George, Charles Norris, Henry Benjamin Wyndham, Henry Henley, Sophia, Sarah and Edith. He was the third oldest of the twelve children. He died in Madras, India. He was buried in Madras, India.-
