Edith was born on April 9th, 1753 and her baptism took place on April 26th, 1753. Edith's father was Thomas Cookson and her mother was Sarah Hull. Her paternal grandparents were John Cookson and Dorothy Long; her maternal grandparents were No Name Hull and Unknown. She had ten brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Francis Gwyn, John, Joseph, William, George, Charles Norris, Henry Benjamin Wyndham, Henry Henley, Sophia and Sarah. She was the fifth oldest of the twelve children.-
