John Beveridge 
John was born on March 19th, 1761 in Fordel, Coaltown, Dalgety, Fife, Scotland. John's father was John Beveridge and his mother was Grissel Symsone. His paternal grandparents were John Beveridge and Grissel (Grisle) Simson (Symsone). He had five brothers and two sisters, named James, William, Alexander, Alexander, George, Elizabeth and Grissel. He was the second oldest of the eight children.-
