Thomas was born on April 19th, 1719 in Strathmiglo, Fife, Scotland. Thomas' father was William Beath (of Pitgorne) and his mother was Mary Orrock.  His paternal grandparents were William Beath and Katherine Storer; his maternal grandparents were John Or James? Orrock and Mary Crawford. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, John, Marjorie, Katharine, Jean, Kathleen and Sophia.  He was the oldest of the eight children. He had seven half-brothers named David, George, Robert, William, George, George and David.  He died at 7 months old on November 19th, 1719 in Strathmiglo, Fife, Scotland.
