John Younkin

John was born on February 6th, 1787 in Upper Turkeyfoot Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, USA.¹ John's father was Johannes Michael “John” Younkin and his mother was Catharina Dorsheimer (Younkin). His paternal grandparents were Johann Heinrich “Henry” Junghen and Catharina Scherer (Junghen). He had five brothers and two sisters, named John, John, Jacob, Henry, George, Mary and Catherine. He was the sixth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 52 on December 12th, 1839 in Turkeyfoot Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, USA.¹
